If you do not know how to go about finding an outfitter, follow the steps below.

1. Choose a region and the activity you want

1.1 Region
First, choose the region you would like to visit. You should take into consideration how far you are willing to travel, the time you have available for your stay and the part of Quebec you would especially like to see.

Are you familiar with the different regions in Quebec? If not, you can learn more by consulting the provincial map. Click on the regions indicated on the map to see the outfitters in each region. This will also give you an idea of how far a given outfitter is from your location.

Have you chosen a region you would like to visit? Go to step 1.2.

1.2 Activities
Think about the activities would you like to practice during your stay: fishing, hunting, hiking in the woods, canoeing, cross-country skiing, etc. Once you have decided on an activity, proceed to step 2.

2. Generating a list of the outfitters meeting your criteria

This list may be generated by several means, but we suggest typing in the region and activity chosen into the search engine on the home page to obtain a more concise list of outfitters.

You can also search by product menu. on the home page
The menu categories are as follows:
Fishing – Hunting – Outdoor Activities – Family Vacations – Corporate Tourism

You can also go directly to the Outfitters section and click on the product of interest to you. Proceed to step 3.

3. Consulting your list of outfitters

Click on an outfitter in your list to see its profile. Each profile contains in-depth information, notably the types of accommodations and meal plan offered, to help you choose the outfitter that meets your needs. Take the time to go through each profile. A legend explaining the icons used is included in each profile.

What type of accommodations are you looking for?
Several possibilities available: rustic cottage, four-star inn, camp, houseboat, etc. Each accommodation unit is rated on a scale from one to four stars. For more information about each type of accommodation and the rating system used, see the Rating section.

What type of meal plan are you looking for?
Quebec outfitters offer two types of meal plans:
American Plan (AP): All meals are prepared for you and served in a central dining area.
European Plan (EP). You are provided with all the cooking equipment and utensils needed to make your own meals. You must bring your own food.

What equipment and services are you looking for?
The profiles indicate the equipment and services offered by each outfitter, which are important factors in helping you make a final choice. Note that some information does not appear in the profiles, such as whether sheets are provided for the beds. To make things easier for you when you contact an outfitter, we have prepared a list of questions you might want to ask.

When you have selected an outfitter, we suggest you sign a Client Contract establishing the details of your agreement (date, duration, package cost and description, reservation and cancellation policy, initial payment, etc.). Such a contact protects both parties by avoiding potential misunderstandings.

Ask your outfitter for clear directions on how to get to the site and a list of the suggested equipment you should bring.

We suggest you start comparing outfitters early to guarantee the best selection.
